Windows Update Greyed Out

I would like to turn off automatic up-dates for Windows 7, and have got attempted to perform so adhering to the guidelines here:However, in 'Handle PanelAll Handle Board ItemsWindows UpdateChange settings' I get a little info box saying 'Some settings are handled by your program officer.' And the dropmenu under 'Important updates' can be greyed out ánd I cán't make any changes.I've tried starting the handle -panel as the boss, but this will not resolve the issue. This will be on a individual laptop computer (ASUS UX31) that no one else provides ever utilized, so the only matter that I can believe will be that this has been established by the producer.

  • Hi,I am using Windows 10 Pro and the 'Check for Updates' option is greyed out. In the past I had changed some registry and group policy settings to stop windows update but now I want to update windows and forgot which settings I've changed.
  • The same group policy is applied on all the Windows 10 client machines and no other client has this issue with Windows Updates. The user is a member of the Administrators group. Why the install now option is greyed out for Windows Updates (Surface Pro 4) - Windows 10 - Spiceworks.
  • Fix Apps are greyed out in Windows 10: If you have recently updated to Windows 10 then chances are that when you open Start Menu you will see some of the Apps are underlined and the tiles of these Apps are greyed out. These apps include Calendar, Music, Maps, Photos, etc which means all the apps which come with Windows 10 have this issue.

One of our Windows 10 clients wasn’t able to install downloaded Windows updates from the WSUS server. No matter if a user or admin logs on to the machine the Windows Update – Install now button is always grayed out. Although this client is receiving updates from the WSUS server, users should be able to manually install downloaded updates.
